The Australian Subtropical Coffee Growers' Co-operative Ltd was established in 1997, and has as its Aims and Objectives:

1. To establish a market for locally grown coffee and coffee products.

2. To bring financial stability to the local industry by:

  a. Purchasing and arranging for processing of locally grown coffee.
  b. The marketing, selling, distributing and warehousing of locally grown coffee on domestic and        international markets.
  c. Developing trade markets, brand names and logos to establish differentiation and to secure market       share and customer loyalty.

3. To manufacture tractor drawn harvester(s).

4. To hire out harvesting equipment to members and other persons.

5. To facilitate the development of further tractor drawn harvesters and harvesting equipment under license.

6. To negotiate discounts on the purchase of farm requisites.

7. To develop a quality assurance program.

8. To establish a processing and distribution plant for locally grown coffee.

9. To establish, maintain and operate a coffee exchange for the sale and marketing of coffee and coffee products.

Membership of the Co-operative may be obtained by payment of an entrance fee of $50 and an annual subscription of $30.
Active membership requires that a member shall:

i). Be a commercial coffee grower with at least 600 trees in the ground, or
ii). Be a person intending to be a commercial coffee grower, who must have a least 600 trees planted       in the ground within 12 months of being admitted to membership.
iii). Pay an annual subscription of not less than $30.

Every member shall, on admission to membership of the Co-op, hold at least 50 shares. Each share will have a nominal value of $10.
